FMC Metals was founded in 2008 by the management and staff of Federal Metals, a leader in Los Angeles scrap metal since the 1970s. Today we serve suppliers throughout the Western United States from our South Los Angeles yard, and through FMC Direct, we ship qualified material straight to consumers here and overseas.
Kevin grew up in the scrap metal industry in Southern California, working summers at Federal Metals, owned by his father Gary Armstrong, starting when he was 15. He brings years of leadership and expertise in the industry and has led FMC Metals since founding the company in 2008. He takes great pride in making sure FMC keeps its reputation for integrity and professionalism.
Michael is President of FMC Metals, where he also leads FMC Direct, and brings years of scrap metal experience to the company. He co-founded GLR Advanced Recycling in Michigan and grew it from a single yard into seven locations with more than 150 employees and over $300 million in annual revenue, leading to a successful exit. Along the way, he expanded GLR into auto recycling and built ScrapPost, a digital marketplace that brought scrap trading online and grew to more than 1,500 subscribers worldwide. He lives in Orange County with his family and spends his free time on the ocean, in the mountains, and anywhere else California's landscape takes him.
A California native and graduate of UC Riverside, Octavio brings more than 15 years of purchasing experience and a large network of suppliers across Southern California and the Southwest. He prides himself on going above and beyond for his suppliers. Call him for pricing.
